About Us

The Maine Film (MFC) is the new name of Friends of Art and Film in Central Maine, a not-for-profit organization that has supported the arts since 1986. In 1998 it launched the Maine International Film Festival as an annual event that has grown steadily through the years.

The new name reflects the organization’s expanded mission to increase support for independent cinema, ensure a stable future for MIFF, and foster education through the visual arts.
