The 13th annual Maine International Film Festival is approaching!

This festival draws movie buffs from all over the Northeast and beyond and showcases more than 100 American independent, international and Maine-made films. Click here for more details.

MIFF Mid-Life Achievement Award WinnersMFC Programs:

Railroad Square Cinema
Railroad Square Cinema has been exhibiting independent films since 1978. Named Maine’s “Best Theatre” in polls and surveys, Railroad Square has also been honored by the Sundance Institute as one of 12 theaters in the country recognized for achievement in its Art House Program. It showcases a variety of national and international films, and serves as a location for special arts and cultural events.

Maine International Film Festival (MIFF)
Since its inception in 1998, the Maine International Film Festival has been dedicated to bringing the best of American and International independent cinema to Maine. During the annual 10 day festival MIFF shows nearly 100 films and spotlights some of Maine and New England’s most exciting and innovative filmmakers.

Fireflies Youth Film Program
The Youth Film Program/Fireflies started with a wish to present films from around the world that would educate, inspire and delight children and young people. Fireflies strives to reach as many young people as possible in Central Maine by offering free showings for day camps, school-based day programs, YMCA or YWCAs and other programs working with children. The Youth Film Program also spearheads Films-for-Schools, which brings kids from area schools for field trips to Railroad Square Cinema.

Programs With Which We Are Affiliated:

Maine Student Film and Video Festival
MSFVF is a showcase for student film and video and is open to Maine residents 19 years of age and younger. Grand Prize winners receive a $2,500 Scholarship to attend the Young Filmmakers Program donated by Maine Media Workshops, Rockport, ME.

Maine Jewish Film Festival
The Maine Jewish Film Festival presents over 200 films during nine days in venues throughout greater Portland and in selected sites throughout the state. MJFF is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a forum for the presentation of films to enrich, educate and entertain a diverse community about the Jewish experience.
