Our Mission

To educate, entertain, and build community through film and art.

We develop robust independent and community-curated film series, deliver impactful educational programs for all ages, and for each of the past 22 years we've hosted “the best-curated film event in New England,” the Maine International Film Festival. According to MovieMaker, we provide “an oasis of programming perfection in Northern New England” at Railroad Square Cinema, “one of the country’s finest independent movie theaters.” Through the longstanding Maine Student Film and Video Festival and annual Conference, we inspire the filmmakers of the future.

Our Programs

Over forty years ago we opened the doors of Maine's independent cinema. We're still reeling.
